Amazon Relational Database Service has not only Multi-AZ instances but also more features such as database snapshots, automatic host replacement, and automated backups to provide high reliability.

Thanks to AWS’s pay-as-you-go pricing model and the economies of scale, you only pay for the resources you consume with very low rates. With On-Demand pricing you do not have to pay any up-front or give long-term commitments. On the other hand, you can always choose Reserved Instances as well for even lower hourly rates.
